Corporate Senior Financial Analyst

Responsibilities:

The Senior Financial Analyst position is a key member of the finance organization. This position plays a key role in working with business leaders across the organization to establish and monitor the appropriate business metrics to measure business performance, to identify and pursue business improvement initiatives, to analyze business performance and future opportunity and to collaboratively assess key business decisions including investment decisions, organizational changes and key operational modifications.

A successful candidate will demonstrate superior analytical skills, ability to decipher large data sets into key messages, insights and outcomes, demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines, be highly inquisitive and innovative, and most of all, engage with business leaders through a solid understanding of the business and a significant level of interaction.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Analysis of financial, production and operational data for past, present and future operations, key performance indicators, trends and costs, and estimated and realized revenues and expenses in order to provide quantitative and qualitative insight.
  • Consult and partner proactively with business unit heads to ensure information, analysis and reporting needs are met.
  • Work with managers in strategic planning and production projections.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and distinguish between operational / financial symptoms and business problems. Distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to analyze complex financial actions and prepares conclusions and analysis with reports.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain consistent quality of data input and adherence to defined processes.
  • Support the Treasurer with analysis of corporate level reporting and analysis including short and long term debt, leasing, and other financing decisions as well as monitoring and reporting of liquidity needs.
  • Support the financial modeling and cross-functional coordination and scheduling of the annual planning process and periodic forecasting process. This includes the development and maintenance of complex models and the coordination of work and timelines of all corporate departments and operational business units.
  • Develop models and analysis that provide a financial evaluation of proposed strategies or operational decisions, including sensitivity analysis and the analysis of alternative strategies.
  • Provide analysis and evaluation of capital investment projects ensuring that each investment exceeds the company's return on capital requirements.
  • Analyze financial performance highlighting key trends and variances to plans, forecasts, and prior period results.
  • Completes other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or other equivalent. MBA preferred
  • Work Experience: Minimum number of years of prior job experience required: 4-7+ years of experience in accounting, business planning
  • Strong Analytical Skills quantitative and qualitative analysis; ability to identify the significant factors of an issue; employ creativity in identifying causes, implications and remedies; demonstrate a balance between theoretical and practical solutions.
  • Initiative ability to work independently; ensure responsive timely follow-up; meet deadlines; demonstrate a sense of urgency; ability to prioritize; strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills efficient and effective oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the organization; builds and maintains strong relationships with peers.
  • Leadership Skills demonstrates good leadership skills; provides support to the finance and accounting staff.
  • PC Skills expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access; proficient user of accounting systems and databases
  • Ability to produce results in a fast paced environment and manage accuracy and quality
  • Ability to adapt to change of responsibilities and additional duties demanded by the business environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
